Ripple Fisher Aquila Expedition Spinning Rod
Refined and expanded for the 2019 season, Ripple Fisher's Aquila series has been built to defy the boundaries of casting from boat and shore. The entire range of rods is defined by its optimal synthesis of lifting power, easy lure handling, outstanding castability, and last but not least, the ability to bring the fight to angry fish.
The Aquila EX series are the ultimate 3-piece expedition pack rod, designed to perform without compromises. Today, anglers are flying around the world to target their dream species, and the farther you go, the more limited the gear selection you can bring. Through countless trials and error, the Aquila EX series has come to fruition and is ready to travel with you wherever you go. Although both EX models have 3 piece constructions, they feel crisp in hand and bend through their butt sections when putting the brakes on monstrous quarry. We are confident that these models will help you catch those rare species at the most remote areas around the world.
The EX79-3 was designed for targeting species like Cubera snapper, Roosterfish in Latin America, and other exotic species. Designed for easy travel, Ripple Fisher has created this versatile rod for use with a vast range of lures from the large jig heads, poppers and diving pencils. The rod is slightly stiff but highly responsive, ideal for casting at bonitos and yellowtails from smaller boats.
The EX83-6 is an ideal light tackle rod for GT or kingfish. Many testing iterations showed that a softer tip section, which is extremely rare for travel rods, enabled anglers to more easily control the subtle action of mid-size diving pencils and many other lures. During field testing, the butt section was able to stop the run of a GT in waters as shallow as 6m, while the rest of the rod bent to absorb the power of the angry GT. This rod has proven itself as a trusted weapon for exotic international expeditions.
